UCSB Multicultural Center Lounge

This lecture explores the creation and use of folk or vernacular banners as creative modes of expressing identity, contesting authority, and demonstrating solidarity within the context of the African Diaspora. Dr. Polk will also comment on the exhibit “Faces of Spirits in Haitian Vodou Flags,” which is currently on display at the UCSB MultiCultural Center Lounge.
