To celebrate Haitian Flag Day, this lunch forum brought together groups and individuals working to create a better understanding of Haiti’s history and culture, beyond the stereotypes perpetuating by the media and Hollywood. UCSB students and faculty are making a difference in Haiti.

Nadège Clitandre, founder of Haïti Soleil and post-doc fellow
at the UCSB Center for Black Studies Research
Jeb Sprague, grad student in sociology
AHEAD, a student group working to raise funds and awareness for Haiti.
