Elizabeth originally hails from Vancouver, British Columbia, where she worked as a researcher at the University of British Columbia on a project seeking to expand telehealth to rural communities and underserved communities.  Since moving to Santa Barbara Elizabeth has worked in both the private sector and academia.  Throughout this ark Elizabeth has remained passionate about building diverse, equitable and inclusive spaces where all persons can thrive.  In her role as the Assistant Director for Biological Engineering, for example, she works hand-in-hand with the Director and Associate Director, faculty, and staff to ensure that diversity, equity and inclusion is a cornerstone of the new Biological Engineering PhD program.
